
Wendi Zand turned herself in to Hammond Police over the weekend.
On March 12, at approximately 1:24 pm, Hammond Police responded to a shooting that occurred at a residence on the 1000 block of East Iowa Avenue. During the incident, the victim was shot in the leg. Medical aid was rendered at the scene, and the victim was transported to North Oaks Medical Center for his injuries. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim’s estranged wife, 34 YO Wendi Zand, of Pearl River, entered into the victim’s residence and shot him. She then fled the area.
She now faces charges for attempted first degree murder, aggravated burglary, and illegal discharge of a firearm.
