
Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,909 new #COVID19 cases.
This is a two-day total. Of the newly reported cases, 946 were confirmed and 963 were probable. 99% of these newly reported cases were tied to spread of the coronavirus in communities, rather than in congregate settings. The cases come from all age groups and all regions of the state. 17% of these cases come from Region 1 (Greater Orleans), 20% come from Region 2 (Baton Rouge area), and 16% are from Region 9 (Northshore). 26 new COVID deaths were reported to the state since 2/19, bringing our death toll to 9,466. These two numbers continue to drift downward, there are 756 people in hospitals and 120 require ventilators.
