
Members of several Northshore Fire Departments are heading to other parts of the state affected by the winter storm.
Fire Captain Nathan Thigpen and Fire Operator Devon Kennedy left Slidell in a 3,500 gallon water tenders, meeting up with more personnel and apparatus from St. Tammany Parish Fire District 13, Goodbee Fire Department and Lee Road Fire Department. This group is responding to Shreveport, as part of the St. Tammany Emergency Response Team (STERT). Their primary mission is to provide water supply with the three water tenders they are deploying in, as well as infrastructure to the Shreveport area. This area has been greatly impacted by the recent winter weather event.
