Dr. Joseph Kanter is warning that the severe weather is causing delays in many COVID vaccine deliveries across Louisiana.
He said if you have a vaccine appointment this week please communicate with your vaccine provider because it might need to be rescheduled. If your 2nd dose appointment gets delayed make sure to reschedule as soon as possible. Kanter said getting it a few days late is all right. So far, more than 50% of Louisiana residents 70 and older have received their first dose. That number is around 18% for people between the age of 60 and 69. The state is also seeing significant decreases in the amount of coronavirus in the state.
