After years of speculation about the potential for a resort, conference center, or casino on the southeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, known as P2E, says it has started discussions with local officials on a proposal to build a $250 million casino and resort on a waterfront site near Slidell. The proposed development, which includes a hotel, would cover about 50 acres of a 100-acre plot of open land east of the Blind Tiger. The P2E chief executive said in an interview this week that the site just off the I-10 twin spans near Slidell is the best single casino development site he’s ever seen.
P2E will be announcing several events to answer questions and gather feedback from parish residents and community groups.
