Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,536 new #COVID19 cases. Of those cases, 1,430 were confirmed and 1,106 were probable. 98% of the cases reported were community spread, 2% were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (18%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (16%) accounted for 34% of the cases. There were 59 deaths reported, bringing the current total death count to 8,383. There were 1,858 in hospitals and 243 that required ventilators. The percent-positivity on the Northshore and around the state shows some of the lowest levels in weeks. Health officials say the goal is to get below five percent and stay there. Gov. Edwards’ current Phase 2 order allows bars to reopen in any parish that can maintain two consecutive weeks of percent-positivity below that level.
