Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 4,673 new #COVID19 cases. 97% of the cases reported were community spread. 3% were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (19%) and 30 and 39 (17%) accounted for 36% of the cases. There were 53 new deaths reported, bringing the current total death count to 7,971. There were 2,035 people in hospitals with 244 requiring ventilators. The Department also reported an additional 78,113 COVID-19 vaccinations administered since the last update. The state has now administered 159,698 doses, including 21,652 completed two-dose series. As of yesterday, the state’s vaccinations administered per capita was 23rd in the country (including Washington, D.C.), according to CDC data.
