State troopers are preparing for potential demonstrations at Louisiana’s Capitol building according to Louisiana State Police. This news comes after an FBI bulletin warned that demonstrations across the nation could start later this week and continue through the inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden on Jan. 20. LSP said in coordination with Capitol staff and the Department of Public Safety Police, they will have personnel in place to ensure a safe environment and to protect the rights of our citizens to hold a peaceful gathering. Several dozen demonstrators gathered peacefully at the State Capitol Wednesday, Jan. 6 to object to President-Elect Biden’s win over President Trump. Security was briefly heightened at the state Capitol for that demonstration. Only those with special access badges were allowed inside.
