Almost all of the pharmacies that were a part of the next phase of vaccine roll out have no more appointments to fill and as people get frustrated about the lack of vaccines for their loved ones the CDC is reporting that the state will get close to 56,000 doses of vaccines delivered by January 10: 28,275 doses of Pfizer’s vaccine will be shipped in LA, along with 27,500 doses of Moderna’s vaccine. The Louisiana Department of Health says the major limiting factor is how much vaccine has been made available. They said they knew this would be a very limited initial allotment for pharmacies. LDH said they are very encouraged by the high demand. While demand is clearly outpacing supply, they said this is just the start. LDH finished by saying there’s more COVID in the state right now than there ever has been. Everyone needs to keep wearing masks and practicing social distancing to protect ourselves, loved ones and our communities.
