NOLA Pauses Testing for New Year

COVID-19 testing sites in the New Orleans Metro area will be closed on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The closures come as more people flock to community-based testing sites to learn their status after celebrating Christmas the week before. The walk-up location opened at 11 a.m. and before long, dozens of people showed up. CORE New Orleans operated the site. In recent weeks, some testing sites have been forced to close early after reaching their daily testing capacity. Testing will continue Wednesday.
