Officials with the Denham Springs Police Department say they are investigating a shooting and crash that left two men dead Monday.
Investigators say a 2007 Volvo sedan driven by 28 YO Jude Landry, of Denham Springs, lost control while traveling southbound on Pete’s Highway. After losing control, the Volvo exited and reentered the roadway and was hit by a 2005 Dodge pickup truck. Landry and his passenger, 27 YO Justin Turner, of Denham Springs, appeared to have died instantly. Investigators say they learned Turner was shot in the leg before the crash and found several bullet holes on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Detectives say they believe Landry and Turner were involved in an altercation with other subjects before the crash.
The case remains under investigation.
