The Louisiana Department of Health reported 4,339 #COVID19 cases yesterday. Of those cases, 2,618 were confirmed cases and 1,721 were probable cases. Yesterday marked nine months since the first case of COVID-19 was identified in Louisiana. Yesterday’s case count was the highest number of new cases reported without a backlog since that first case was identified on March 9. Of the cases reported 98% were community spread. 2% were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 accounted for 19% of the cases. 32 new deaths were reported, bringing the current total death count to 6,684. 1,537 people are in hospitals and 177 are on ventilators.
St Tammany’s positivity rate jumped from 7.7% to 10.2%. Tangipahoa went from 12.1% to 14.3%. Livingston’s positivity rate went from 12.4% to 14.4%. And Washington went from 8.9% to 9.3.
