Dept of Health Update

The Louisiana Department of Health reported 3,604 #COVID19 cases yesterday. Of these, 3,329 are confirmed cases and 275 are probable cases. Today’s case report includes 1,551 newly reported cases attributed to a backlog. 96% of the cases were community spread. 4% of the cases were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 account for 25% of the cases reported. Of the tests reported, 63,823 were PCR tests and 2,173 were antigen tests. 46 more deaths were reported bringing the current total death count to 6,501. 1,288 people are in hospitals and 134 require ventilators. Percent positivity in St Tammany is 7.8%, up slightly from 7.4%.  In Tangipahoa it was 11.1% down from 11.8%. Washington Parish percent positivity was 8.9%, up from 4.6%.
