Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal wrapped a police car pink last month in order to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. Over 1,000 people, businesses, and organizations signed the car with their name, the name of someone battling cancer, a cancer survivor, or in memory of a loved one. Slidell Police, in partnership with citizens and local businesses, raised over $17,000. But it didn’t stop there. Northshore High School’s JROTC raised over $25,000 to put toward the campaign. A Northshore High School graduate, Caleb Page, was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The young men and women of Northshore High School’s JROTC came together, in conjunction with Caleb’s family, raised the money in Caleb’s honor. Caleb wanted the money to go towards the “pink police car”. Last Tuesday, Caleb and his family, as well as members of the JROTC, had the opportunity to be the last people to sign the pink car.

In total, the Slidell Memorial Cancer Center was presented with a check for over $42,000. This project would not have been possible without the support of the Friends of Slidell Police Foundation and Tommy St. Clair of GotchaDecals.com.
