On October 24, the Hammond Police Department was notified by the Southeastern Louisiana University Police Department of a female stating that she had been raped at a location off-campus the night prior. Through investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as 23 YO Laqonte Detray Turner, Jr. of Hammond.
A warrant was issued for one count of Second Degree Rape. Turner is also wanted by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office for two counts of Accessory to Second Degree Murder and two counts of Obstruction of Justice.
