Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Melissa Stilley says there are always opportunities to find good in the toughest of times and she hopes her employees will have something to celebrate before the year’s end, a 13th check. Stilley and the Tangipahoa Parish School Board want to present a 13th check to all full-time employees before the end of the calendar year. Under the proposal, every full-time employee, regardless of position or years of service, will receive a one-time salary supplement of $600. This salary supplement would be the first the district has been able to offer during Stilley’s administration. The estimated cost of the one-time salary supplement is $1.8 million to be distributed among 2,320 employees.
