The Joint Transportation, Highway, & Public Works Committee will conduct a legislative public hearing on Thursday, November 12, at 1:30 p.m. for the Hammond region (St. Tammany, Washington, Tangipahoa, St. John, Livingston and St. Helena Parishes). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the public hearings will be conducted virtually through Zoom. The purpose of the hearing is to review highway construction priorities for the fiscal year 2021-2022.
Among the local District 62 projects in the preliminary FY 21-22 Highway Priority Program are:
Drainage improvements on LA 1063 from Glendale Drive to US 51 in Tangipahoa; Barringer Drive sidewalks in Ponchatoula; Improvements on LA 3158 from I-12 to Hipark Road in Hammond; LA 3234 University Avenue sidewalk project in Hammond; Mill and overlay LA 22 from US 51 to Dunson Road in Ponchatoula; Roundabout at LA 22/Dunson Road/Ridgedell Road in Ponchatoula (near Ponchatoula High School); Yellow Water River Bridge Replacement on US 51 in Tangipahoa; Intersection improvements at E. Minnesota Park Road and Range Road in Hammond; Overlay portions of I-12 from exit 63 in Livingston to Tangipahoa Parish line;
Bridge replacement: Million Dollar Road/Hosmer Mill Road Bridges in St. Tammany Parish; US 190/LA 22 improvements in St. Tammany; Mill and overlay LA 21/LA 1083 Fairgrounds Boulevard in St. Tammany Parish; Natchez Drive Rehab in Slidell; Sidewalk improvements on US 190/Gause Boulevard in Slidell; Turn lane on Lindberg Drive at US 190 in Slidell; Mill, patch, overlay and striping on I-10 Service Roads in Slidell; Widen to 4 lanes and new bridge on LA 437 to US 190 Business in St. Tammany Parish; New 4-lanes on LA 3241 from LA 435 to LA 40/LA 41 and LA 3241 from LA 36 to LA 435 in St. Tammany; Roundabout on US 190B at Jefferson Avenue in St. Tammany; Widen Bayou De Zaire to Lalanne Road to three lanes in St. Tammany; Roundabout improvements at US 190 at Northshore and Camp Villere; Bootlegger Road sidewalks in St. Tammany; Roundabout for LA 22 at LA 1085 in St. Tammany; LA 16 bridge replacements from Isabel to Sun in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes; US 190 Drainange improvements in Lacombe.
