As of Thursday, October 29, utility companies are reporting approximately 48,718 customers in St Tammany remain without power. Cleco said as of 9 p.m. last night they had restored power to over half of their customers impacted by Hurricane Zeta. Nearly 50,000 customers have been restored out of the roughly 73,000 who lost power in Washington and St. Tammany. The City of New Orleans along with Entergy held a news conference Thursday to provide an update on power outages in the city. More than 126,000 people are without power in New Orleans. At the peak of the outages more than 176,000 people had lost power. According to an Entergy spokesperson, for a category two storm, restoration could take up to seven days.
