Slidell’s Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be hosted by Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Thursday, Nov. 26.
This year, meals will be available either by delivery or picked up at the church. There will be no on-site dining. The dinner’s organizing committee is recruiting volunteers to help prepare 1,400 meals. This is the 22nd annual Thanksgiving event and more than 30,000 meals have been served during its history.
Approximately 200 volunteers are needed in order to get the dinners from the kitchen stove to the diners’ table. Jobs include cooking, meal box assembly, delivery and clean up.
If you would like a meal delivered to you on Thanksgiving Day, please call the Turkey Hot-line at (985) 326-9849. You can also use the email account, slidellthanksgiving@gmail.com, to request a meal. Please provide your name, address, contact number, and number of meals needed.
