St. Tammany Corp will host Slidell Development-Ready Community Town Hall Meetings at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium. Town hall meetings will be held on Thursday, October 22 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and again on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. The public is invited.
As the lead economic development organization for the parish, St. Tammany Corporation’s primary purpose is to create an environment in our community where businesses, families, and talent have an opportunity to thrive. In alignment with these priorities, Slidell Mayor Greg Cromer has asked St. Tammany Corporation to update Slidell’s strategic economic development plan on his behalf as part of the Louisiana Development Ready Communities (LDRC) Program. In 2009 and 2010, 19 communities, including Slidell, participated in the LDRC Pilot Program, and St. Tammany Corporation is excited to now update the city’s original plan to work toward becoming the first parish-wide Development Ready Community in the state. THRIVE2023, St. Tammany’s comprehensive five-year strategic economic development plan, will serve as the overarching LDRC plan for the community, and Slidell’s LDRC plan will complement those parish-wide goals at a local level.
To update Slidell’s plan, St. Tammany Corporation will be hosting a series of town hall meetings open to the public to provide input in developing strategies to address education, workforce development, infrastructure, leadership, and marketing/communications specific to Slidell. The public can also stop by the City Hall Meeting Room from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, for a come-and-go discussion and public input opportunity for anyone unable to make the town hall meetings. The meeting room at 2055 Second Street, on the first floor of Slidell City Hall. For more information, please visit St. Tammany Corporations website at www.sttammanycorp.org.
