Hurricane Delta’s winds have steadily increased and the category two storm had winds of 100 miles per hour as of this morning. Hurricane specialists say the hurricane is in the midst of a very impressive rapid intensification. It is now possible for Delta to become a category four hurricane with winds of 130mph, but forecasters are still not confident about that strength or where Delta will go. Southeast Louisiana remains in the middle of the forecast cone with spreads from Louisiana through Mississippi, Alabama and part of the Florida Panhandle.
