In Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves let their statewide mask mandate expire yesterday. He said he signed a new, limited executive order which extends some measures to prevent rampant COVID-19 transmission. Reeves said he still believe masks work and that he’ll still wear one, and he expects that most people will too. The new order keeps some limitations on large gatherings at bars, parties, and stadiums, although several of the limitations on outdoor events were increased. Mississippi will still have mask requirements at schools, and for a few professions where there is the greatest risk for super-spreading. After the announcement some municipalities in the state said they will keep their own local mask mandates in place for the time being.
