The St Tammany Chamber of Commerce invites you to join them for their inaugural Clay Shooting Tournament at Covey Rise Lodge in Husser, just 20 minutes north of Robert. With hunting season kicking off, this is a great chance to warm up for deer, duck and quail season. The structure is similar to a golf scramble, only we are exchanging our clubs for shotguns. Participants shoot a round of 100 targets, in teams of four, on a beautifully laid out course. Participants provide their own gun but all other supplies―including ammo, safety glasses and ear protection―are provided. The shoot generally takes 1 1/2 hours and includes pastries for breakfast and a full lunch. There will be 14 different stations from which targets are thrown on a variety of trajectories with different angles, speeds, elevations and distances. Prizes will be awarded to the “Top Shooter” and the “Worst Shooter.” Find out more at sttammanychamber.org.
