Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty in Liberto Murder

Prosecutors in St. Tammany Parish are planning to seek the death penalty for the man accused of killing Mandeville Police Captain Vincent Liberto, who was shot following a police pursuit a year ago. Liberto spent 25 years with the Mandeville Police Department and was a Marine veteran. The suspect in the case, Mark Spicer, pleaded not guilty in January. Spicer is still in jail, facing several charges, including murdering a police officer.
