Yesterday the Louisiana Department of Health reported 249 new cases of coronavirus yesterday. That pushed the state’s total to 161,462. Nine reported deaths puts the state’s total at 5,207. Hospitalizations for COVID-19 continue to drop. 587 patients listed yesterday was nine fewer than the weekend. That’s the lowest it has been in three months. 84% of the cases reported to the state were community spread. People aged 29 and under represent 34% of these cases. 26% are individuals between 18-29.
