Governor Edwards’ office on Thursday announced an adjustment to the rules governing bars in Phase Three of coronavirus restrictions. Bars are being allowed to reopen in parishes that have had fewer than five percent of coronavirus samples test positive for two weeks. And unlike other businesses that will be allowed to go to 75 percent of their maximum occupancy, bars will be capped at 25 percent, or 50 patrons, whichever is fewer. Edwards announced last week that last call would be at 10 p.m., and bars would have to close entirely at 11 p.m. Today, he modified the order to allow alcohol sales continue through 11 p.m. Bars must still close at that time.
