The Louisiana Department of Health reported 305 COVID19 cases reported to the state yesterday. 87% of these newly reported cases are tied to community spread rather than congregate settings. 99.7% of these newly reported cases date back to the previous week (8/31-9/6), i.e., the cases are not tied to a backlog. 8% of these newly reported cases are among children under 18yo. 27% are among 18-29yo. These are on 4,985 new tests reported to the state since 9/6. There were 12 more COVID deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 4,942. Total hospitalizations went down to 787, the lowest number since July 1. 124 COVID patients were listed on ventilators.
