The Louisiana Department of Health is reporting more than 1600 more coronavirus numbers as they resumed counting after no numbers on Saturday. The jump in numbers was because of a backlog of 532 cases with specimen collection dates going back as far as July 1. Total deaths in the state is now listed at 4,768. 902 are currently hospitalized, with 143 currently on ventilators. Louisiana’s statewide 211 network is now answering calls about COVID-19 from Louisiana residents who have questions.
