St. Tammany Parish Government announced the following Emergency Operations updates at a news briefing yesterday. All non-essential Parish Government offices will be closed, Tuesday, August 25. Essential employees are to report as assigned. These facilities will remain closed Tuesday, August 25: Camp Salmen Nature Park, The Tammany Trace, The St. Tammany Fishing Pier, Kids Konnection Playground, Northshore Beach, and the Bayou Lacombe Bridge will be closed to marine traffic.
Six self-serve sandbag locations will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., weather permitting. There will be someone to assist anyone who needs it, at each location. The St. Tammany Parish Government- Building on Koop Dr., the St. Tammany Parish Public Works- Airport Road Barn, The Old Levee District Site on Military Road, St. Tammany Parish Public Works- Fritchie Barn in Pearl River, St. Tammany Parish Public Works Keller Barn in Lacombe, and the St. Tammany Parish Public Works Barn- Covington Barn on N. Florida Street.
The St. Tammany Clerk of Court, Judges of the 22nd Judicial and District Attorney’s offices are closed through Wednesday, August 26. St. Tammany Parish libraries are closed today. Coastal Environmental is suspending recycling this week. Garbage pickup is expected however, the schedule may change.
