COVID Testing has been paused around many parts of the state as we await the arrival of two storms. The Louisiana Department of Health reported 622 #COVID19 cases reported to the state yesterday. The collection dates for most of these cases (99.7%) fall between August 17 and August 24. 71% of the cases reported to the state were community spread. People aged 29 and under represent 31% of these cases. There were 18 deaths reported to the state. The current total death count is 4,623. Louisiana’s statewide 211 network is now answering calls about COVID-19 from Louisiana residents who have questions.
