Louisiana continues a positive trend of smaller new case numbers as it looks to be plateauing with a high amount of COVID. The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,490 new cases yesterday. 93% of the cases were community spread. 29% of the cases were from individuals 29 and under. 41 deaths were reported to the state, bringing the total to 3,978. 1,471 are hospitalized and 233 are on vents. Governor Edwards is scheduled to brief the media today at 2:30. Louisiana’s statewide 211 network is now answering calls about COVID-19 from Louisiana residents who have questions.
