The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,769 new cases yesterday. 42 new deaths bring the state total to 3,811. 1,524 are in hospitals with 205 of them on ventilators. Both hospitalizations and vents are down from 24 hours before. 95% of the new cases are from community spread.
During his press conference yesterday, Governor Edwards said the test percent positive remains over 10%, with the goal to be under 10%. Louisiana remains the #1 state in the U.S. in cases per capita. Edwards also said people should not expect to see any major changes when he announces the executive order that replaces the current one.
