Film production will begin in New Orleans again next week. An Amazon Prime series will be the first production to shoot in New Orleans since film production and local studios were shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Other major studios anticipated to resume filming in the coming months include, Disney, Sony, and CBS. A statement from Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s office says that in order to begin filming again, productions will be required to adhere to the highest health and safety guidelines established by the industry’s guilds and unions. Each production will have an on-set Health and Safety Supervisor and will hire sanitization companies to clean sets prior, during and after filming.
