Virtual Option at STPPS

St Tammany Schools rolled out info on their new virtual learning option for local students. The STPPS Virtual School is a full-time online school option for students in grades K-12 who live in St. Tammany Parish. Enrolling in the virtual school allows students the flexibility to learn anytime, anywhere through online courses while still receiving the support of Louisiana certified teachers and district resources. The curriculum is aligned to Louisiana state standards, a Learning Lab provides in-person tutoring and support, students who are enrolled will be required to take state-mandated assessments, and students will be expected to follow attendance requirements and work a minimum number of hours each day/week. If a parent is considering this virtual option for a student with an IEP or IAP, a team meeting must be held to determine if a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) can be provided through a virtual learning platform.
