Southeastern Louisiana University Police says Michael Beckner is their new Chief. He joins Southeastern from Augusta University in Georgia and has over 25 years of law enforcement experience. Michael started his law enforcement career in North Mississippi serving with the City of Corinth and the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office. In 2006, Michael took a position with the University of Alaska Anchorage working his way through the ranks to the position of Chief. Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Executive Development Institute, and the FBI LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute. Michael is a veteran of the US Army and National Guard.
