Last week Hammond Police Department Patrol Officers heard a vehicle traveling on Mooney Avenue with an extremely loud exhaust. Officers initiated a traffic stop near Mooney Avenue and West Coleman Avenue, where the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. After a foot pursuit that spanned several blocks, the suspect, Antoine Hutchinson, 29 years old of Hammond, was taken into custody. Officers located a bag in his possession that contained several types of illegal narcotics.
Hutchinson was charged with Modified Exhaust, No Driver’s License, No Insurance, 6 counts of Possession of Schedule II Narcotics with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Schedule I Narcotics. He was booked into the Hammond City Jail. The narcotics included approximately 350 Ecstasy tablets, Fentanyl, and Cocaine. This case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office for their review.
