Shell Oil appears to be selling their Convent refinery and associated facilities connected to the property. The process of finding a buyer for the properties could take months as Shell looks to narrow its focus of ownership to a core group of refineries in and around the Gulf with Houston and New Orleans remaining the headquarter cities. The refinery complex is over four-thousand acres between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The refinery employs 1,100 workers and is capable of producing grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, and more, processing upwards of 240-thousand barrels of crude oil per day.
