At a news conference yesterday Gov. Edwards said the state is moving in the wrong direction, and that Wednesday’s numbers were proof they made the right decision to stay in Phase Two. He said the state will analyze data each week to determine if they should stay in Phase Two for the full 28 days. He also said more positive cases are being confirmed in young people, and that they need to take the pandemic seriously and stop thinking they are invincible. Louisiana’s update yesterday reported that the number of new cases increased by 882 at 52,477. There were 18-deaths statewide. Meanwhile, the number of people hospitalized dropped by 15 to 631 with six less people on ventilators for a count of 77.
